ReviewAsk vs Housecall Pro Reviews
Housecall Pro includes Reviews in its plans: it sends a review request by email and text when a job is finished or paid, and gives you a dashboard to read and reply to reviews. ReviewAsk is a standalone review-request tool that also connects to Housecall Pro. The biggest practical difference is where each customer is sent to leave the review.

The default that matters: who gets sent to Google
Housecall Pro's help center says review requests are "optimized" by default: customers with a @gmail.com address go straight to Google, and the rest are split between your Facebook page and reviews collected for your website. If your customers mostly use work, Yahoo, iCloud, or ISP email addresses, many of your happy customers may never see your Google review form.
You can change the distribution in Housecall Pro's Reviews settings. If Google is the review site that drives your calls, check that setting first. ReviewAsk sends every customer a direct Google review link, so each ask is a chance at a Google review.
When Housecall Pro Reviews makes sense
If you run every job in Housecall Pro and you're happy with its distribution settings, it's already in your plan, and its dashboard keeps review replies next to your jobs. Turn it on, point it at Google, and you may not need anything else.
When ReviewAsk makes sense
If you want every customer sent to Google, need review requests outside Housecall Pro too (walk-ins, a spreadsheet, a second business), or want one short ask with one reminder and nothing more, ReviewAsk sends each customer a direct Google review link by email and text. The Housecall Pro connection uses an API key, which Housecall Pro lists on its Max plan; on other plans you upload a spreadsheet or send from your phone. It stays within Google's review rules: no gating, no incentives.
Bottom line
Already using Housecall Pro Reviews and sending customers to Google? Keep it. If the Gmail-only default has been sending most of your customers somewhere other than Google, or you want review requests that work outside Housecall Pro, ReviewAsk is a flat-price way to ask every customer for a Google review.
Ask every customer, without remembering to
ReviewAsk texts or emails every customer a one-tap Google review link, automatically from Jobber, Housecall Pro, Square & more, or in one tap. One follow-up on day 3, then it stops.
